Kathy graduated with BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Ulster University in 2014, with first class honours. For the past four years she has been working with severe asthma teams throughout the UK to improve drug delivery and adherence to inhalers through her PhD in Respiratory Medicine.
With a particular interest in music, Kathy joined the Ulster Orchestra Medical Team in 2014 as head physiotherapist. As a classically trained pianist and oboist, she trained at the School of Music, Ulster College of Music and spent time at the Royal Military School of Music. This musical background has given her an insight into the specific requirements of professional musicians.
Kathy is also a guest lecturer with Ulster University, Sports Education Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Athletics. As a former international athlete, she has had the honour of competing for both Northern Ireland and Ireland in discus.
Kathy has a passion for supporting patients tackle chronic pain and movement strategies within the workplace. Delivery of alternative treatment strategies one-on-one or in a group situation on how to maintain and improve your body, specifically your muscular system, can give you the knowledge and confidence to fix your own body.
